Shirtless Men

Wednesday, August 05, 2009

Times when it's appropriate for men to be shirtless:
-Inside their homes
-In their backyards
-At the beach
-At the pool
-At the water park
-On a jet ski

Times when it's NOT appropriate for men to be shirtless:
-Walking down the street
-Mowing the front lawn
-Hanging out in a park
-Standing on the street corner
-Shopping
-Boardwalks
-Grocery stores
-Sporting events *(with absence of body paint)
-In a bar

It doesn't matter how hot outside it is. We girls are wearing shirts. We're surviving.

It doesn't matter if you're in awesome shape, how good your six-pack looks, how cut your arms are...and frankly, for the most part, the shirtless wonders you see prowling the streets are exactly the ones you don't want to see sans shirts. It doesn't matter if you're pale or tan, hairy or smooth, skinny or fat or fit.

If you're leaving your house and water is not involved, keep your shirt on. Don't be a dick. You are not Marky Mark.

The End.

  3. Hummmm maybe I was incorrect but yes I did think legally. Some lady in Ottawa challenged it in court, I thought she won. I could be wrong. It was quite some time ago.

  4. OH MY GOSH I soooo agree with this. On our way back from the beach this weekend, Julian and I saw a guy strolling down the sidewalk wearing jeans, a belt, and tennis shoes. He had his shirt in his hand. He was clearly NOT going to the beach, just walking and got hot. INAPPROPRIATE. So gross.

  5. Agreed.

Back in the day when I used to go to soccer camp I always thought it was completely unfair that the boys teams got to play shirtless and the girls were forced to suffer.

  6. @heisschic it's up for debate. i have had to watch some pretty gross neighbours mowing lawns :)

@mercerch we reviewed the ins and outs at work today in DETAIL. haha! i think it's legal in ontario but not here...buuut we could be wrong!

@sarah it's so gross! or, when the shirt is tucked into the waistband...not good...

  7. I'll even go so far as to exclude running/jogging. And, heisschic, no mowing the grass.

This is the same issue as people parading around the gym locker room nude. NOBODY cares what you have going on down there. And, usually it's just gross.

Put a freakin towel on. Put a freakin shirt on.

  10. I dare say that guys definitely should be keeping the shirts on at sporting events too...that is where the biggest, fattest guys feel inclined to go shirtless the most!

  11. bite me, if it is hot I'm taking my shirt off and if you don't like it don't look at it.

You're just jealous because you feel you can't and you are uptight.

If I want to mow the lawn with no shirt on I will heisschic. and to Mercerch yes the woman won her court case.

I personally think it is inappropriate for woman to go to the bar in a short top that looks almost like a sports bra but more stylish and mini skirts are trashy and high heels I think make women look cheap but I don't go around witting blog posts about it.
