Here's the thing. I want to go all hog-wild with this birthday bevvy. I don't want to get the same old order I always get. And this is where I need your help. What's "your" drink at Starbucks?
If I'm getting a hot drink other than a straight old coffee, it's usually a plain ol' skim or soy latte or a nonfat mocha with whipped cream. I know. Nonfat WITH whip? That's like ordering a Big Mac meal with a Diet Coke. Get off me.
When it's time for a cold drink, it's either iced green tea (which is disgusting hot, but tastes 100% less like grass when it's iced for some reason) or passion tea lemonade, made with apple juice instead of the lemonade.
What's your favourite drink at Starbucks? Or if you hate the 'bucks, what kind of coffee drink do you recommend?

My drink of choice at Starbies has always been the Caramel Macchiato, but now that it's warming up I have become addicted to the Green Tea Frappuccino.
ReplyDeleteAND THEN! A few days ago I ordered a Java Chip Frappuccino. OMGOMGOMG SO GOOD. I get them with non-fat and no whip and it really doesn't lose anything.
I need to try these frappuccinos...I have only ever had the caramel! Need to branch out!

next time you're in Ottawa get one of the gift cards and load it up - then you just go to the Starbucks website and register it. You get benefits right away like free milk upgrades (if you want soy for example) and they send you a coupon for a free birthday drink. Once you buy 30 drinks on your card you get a gold card with your name on it!! I'm six drinks away from my gold card and cannot wait to have that baller status haha!

My drink was a skinny vanilla latte for quite a while. At Christmas time, I order skinny peppermint mochas like they are going out of style... which I guess they do when they go out of season.. haha! Now, I'm a skinny mocha girl.
ReplyDeleteWhen it's hot out, I get typically order a passion tea without lemonade (I'm actually drinking one right now!), but sometimes with if I want a change.
I hate to sound odd, but I was indifferent about Starbucks for a long time... likely 'cause I wasn't living in a city, and didn't see the appeal. I am now a convert!
There's one super close to where I work, and I've gotten to know the staff pretty well, and also have a friend that works there. It does help that they can be choose to be generous - not that I rely or expect it, just a pleasant treat every once and a while.. and I make sure I always tip well!!
Enjoy your birthday drink! The chocolate chocolate chip frappucino is sooooo good. I order it when I want to indulge, just fyi. :)

I drank so many skinny peppermint mochas this Christmas :) I've never had the passion iced tea. A chocolate chip frappucino sounds good!
DeleteI think I get sucked into Starbucks so often because it's attached to Chapters, and it's easy to go in to look at books or magazines and need something to drink. I used to live right around the corner from a Starbucks too. The drive thru one in Bedford is super convenient when I'm out with the little man and don't want to have to get him all unpacked from the car and cart him inside!
OMG I have never even heard of all these choice, I tend to stick to things with vanilla and cinammon in but then I am still relatively new to this part of the world. I need to branch out a bit now

DeleteI love the starbucks birthday gift! I'm usually a soy latte person hot and an ice coffee person cold. No extra sweetening or flavors.

DeleteMy two go to drinks at Starbucks are either a tall 'Chai tea latte' or a tall 'Earl Grey Tea Latte' since I don't like coffee:) Both are delicious!

DeleteSalted caramel mocha frap. But they don't make it all year. :(

DeleteErrrr no I have never made it into a frap. Just a salted caramel mocha. Still awesome!
