2011 New Year's Resolutions

1. Take better care of myself - go to bed earlier, drink more water & green tea, go to my doctor's and dentist's appointments on time, stick to a regular workout schedule and eat cleanly.

2. Get my money in order. Set up a retirement savings account. Track all spending and saving.

3. No buying any new clothes until May (!!) More on this later.

4. (Re)Learn to knit.

5. Make something every week. A new recipe, a craft, a short story...anything to get the creative juices flowing (god, I hate that term).

6. Run in a race. Actually register, get the t-shirt, show up, and cross the finish line.

7. Be more positive and learn to focus on the good, not dwell on the bad.

We rang in New Year's Eve with dinner at one of my favourite restaurants. I had veal and it made me feel like such a fantastic jackass to end the year eating a baby animal, but damn, it was good. We went for a walk and then headed home to watch a movie and play Monopoly, during which I got champagne drunk and started putting Pete's hotels in my mouth to hide them so I didn't have to pay rent. When it became obvious I was going to lose at the game I sooked and we put it away. It was a great New Year's Eve :)

Happy New Year!

  1. Can I steal #1,4, and 6? Maybe I should add a resolution to create my own, but those would be perfect for me!

Amy - you can't pay rent on a property that's been eaten! That was my rationale anyway.
