Five on Friday: Five things I've convinced myself I NEED

Friday, September 14, 2012

1. A chambray shirt.

2. A pair of coloured skinny jeans - preferably in this oxblood shade (runner up: cobalt blue)

3. Leopard shoes that look like slippers.

4. A bunch of tunics like this, which I can wear with tights and boots and still have my buns covered.

5. This laptop sleeve for the return to work. Gotta be practical.

How's that for phoning it in? What's on your shopping list for fall?
Happy Friday!

  1. When's the big day for returning to work? Are you anticipating it? Anxious? It's a transition, for sure, but it's also great to regain adult communication!

    1. Not sure yet - late October/early November probably, but we're planning to nail down a date over the next couple weeks. A mix of anxiety and excitement is the best way to describe what's going on in my head these days! I can't wait for adult interaction but I'm going to miss my little like crazy and I'm worried about how we'll all handle the transition.

  2. I love the long tunic! I already spent my fall clothes budget and got very little - maternity clothes are freaking expensive! Hope your return to work goes well :D

    1. I just read your big baby news! Congratulations! Babies all over the place lately! And yes, maternity clothes are so super overpriced especially considering you only wear them for a few months.

  4. I have two pairs of coloured skinny jeans...blue and a purple, very similar to the pair that you've posted. I love them. Brendan hates them! I'm hoping that I will still be able to wear them with the bump.

    1. Boo! Brendan needs to appreciate the coloured skinny jean! You should be OK to wear them - I invested in a Bella Band and was able to wear my regular jeans right up to d-day.

    1. I've been back and forth on the shoes, but I've seen other people pulling them off so I'm going with it. They look cute with black skinny pants. But I saw moccasins today I really want too. Decisions, decisions.

  6. I love the tunics and the idea of tights and boots, I think I would go for leggings, I am not as fit as you and tights would be pushing it. This kind of clothes planning makes me look forward to the cooler weather. I too would like a chambray shirt - very nice

    1. I don't like to get my boots out until it gets below 15 degrees. We have four more days of summer and I'm still wearing sandals. Soon though!! I just ordered a new raincoat which was more of a "need" than a "want" so I'm trying to be careful about spending too much money on clothes :(

    2. Where do you buy your boots? I am still new to Nova Scotia and finding my way. Oh and the tunics? where are those?
Any clothes shopping help is mucho appreciated!

    3. The boots I have now I found at Globo in Dartmouth Crossing. I got them last fall. They have pretty good selection! Spring Shoes is another place I like to look, not too pricey but lots to choose from. There's one in Micmac and one at Halifax Shopping Centre. The Bay has a good shoe sale on right now but it's mostly heels and flats, not so much boots.
